The students of Class 10 will have access to new textbooks from the new academic session 2027-28. As part of the new textbooks that are being developed for school education under the National Education Policy (NEP), the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has started working on Class 10 textbooks.

By March 2027, the new textbooks for all subjects will be available. This move by NCERT follows the recent development where new textbooks for all subjects of Class 9 have been released in the current 2026-27 academic session. It is pertinent to mention here that there has been a small delay in making textbooks available for subjects like social science.

This is why the NCERT is already vigilant about releasing new textbooks for Grade 10 on time. It is also working to ensure that new textbooks for all subjects arrive in schools before the new academic session begins in April.

According to senior NCERT officials, new textbooks for most of the 10th grade subjects have been finalized. NCERT has also begun work on new textbooks for grade 11, so that students who graduate from grade 10 using the new textbooks can be provided with new textbooks in time for the 2028-29 academic year. It is worth noting that NCERT has so far released approximately 134 textbooks under the NEP for all subjects from kindergarten to grade 9.
