At the one-year anniversary of Operation Sindoor, General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, lauded the valour and strategic brilliance of the Indian armed forces.

At the Pen and Armor defense seminar held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, he stated that for all four days of battle, India’s Armed Forces had consistently outsmarted their adversaries and maintained complete control of escalation.

According to Gen Chauhan, the success was a result of proper situational awareness and an astute understanding of the battle terrain. The Indian army was well aware of what was going on both within and outside India’s borders.

He clarified, "We knew where we struck and what the response was." This transparency allowed India to dominate every level of tension and maintain its advantage even in adverse circumstances.

Discussing the changing times of drones and high-tech warfare, the CDS also issued an important warning. He said that nations should avoid getting trapped in protracted wars.

"When you use military power, you must have clear political-military objectives and a precise exit strategy. There is no point in prolonging the war once the objective is achieved." His statement reflects the Indian Army's mature and precise military thinking amid future challenges.
