In the second match of the Super 8 series of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, England won against Sri Lanka by 51 runs. For Sri Lanka, Dunith Welalage took three wickets, while Madushanka and Mahesh Theekshana each took two wickets. Dushmantha Chameera also took one wicket.

Chasing a target of 147, Sri Lanka had a disastrous start, with their first four batsmen failing to reach double figures. Pawan Ratnayake couldn't even open his account and was dismissed off the very first ball. Both openers were dismissed by Jofra Archer. Will Jacks then compounded Sri Lanka's troubles by dismantling the middle order.

Sri Lanka lost five wickets at 34, and their defeat was almost certain. Adil Rashid, Liam Dawson, and Jamie Overton then took the last five wickets to seal England's victory.
