The coaches of the Bandra Terminus-Amritsar Paschim Express were uncoupled twice within an hour on Sunday. The incidents were reported in Maharashtra and Gujarat, triggering panic amongst passengers. Such an incident happening twice on the same train has raised safety concerns.

Officials said the first incident occurred between Vangaon and Dahanu stations at 1:19 pm, and the second at Sanjan station in Gujarat at around 2:10 pm. A Western Railway spokesperson said no passengers were injured or inconvenienced, and train operations were unaffected.

After the first disengaged coach, the train was halted for approximately 25 minutes before the coaches were reattached. The train continued forward at 1:46 pm. The spokesperson added that the coupling of the train broke once again at Sanjan station. He also informed that Valsad Carriage and Wagon (C&W) personnel were dispatched to the site for help, and a locomotive engine departed Valsad at 3:15 pm.
